Tuesday, October 17: An Evening with David Bazan
Known and respected for his tenure performing as Pedro the Lion, songwriter David Bazan has retired the band name to continue making music under his own name and his electronic side-project Headphones. While his chemistry with Pedro The Lion partner TW Walsh
made for strong results, Bazan's timeless compositions propel this
artist ahead. Solid, melodic, introspective and prone to both
autobiographical and fictional narratives, Bazan's music continues to
resonate with fans of classic singer-songwriters such as Simon &
Garfunkel, younger heart-benders like Bright Eyes, as well as the
seasoned greats of American Music Club
and Red House Painters. Bazan is working on a new EP to be released
on-line this summer and a full-length studio album to be released by Jade Tree in the spring of 2007. Bazan will be touring solo this summer and fall in the U.S. and will also join kindred spirits Will Johnson, Vic Chestnutt and Mark Eitzel for more dates with the Undertow Orchestra Europe.
