The Skinny
65 Roses", an annual fundraiser benefiting the Louisiana chapter of the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, was held at Republic New Orleans this year and
quite the elegant affair.
Noteworthy
In the early evening, hoteliers Ashish Verma
(Windsor Court), Sean Cummings (International House) and Michael Valentino
mingled with documentary filmmaker Rebecca Snedeker, WDSU's "it" couple
Travers Mackel and Helena Moreno and Shoefty duo Sarah Winston and Michael
Mott as guests sipped "White Rose" martinis and listened to New
Orleans-based rockers The Vettes and The Hush. Later on, the Los
Angeles-based Dynamite Brothers (Roosevelt Hotel, LAX) had guests swaying to
a medley of disco, pop, punk, and hip-hop as real estate developers Cres
Gardner, Mac Bauer, Mark McKenna and Gigi Matthews held court along with
Sherry Serio and Cindy Dunn at the Patron-level bar. As was expected, Grace
Rose, Leah Bauer's three-year-old daughter who has CF, outshined even the
always-affable Leah and proved to be the consummate host for the evening.
