Monday, February 15th: 2nd Annual Lundifest feat. Juvenile + Big Sam's Funky Nation + G-Eazy
UTP/Atlantic recording artist Juvenile has unveiled early details of his eagerly awaited new album - the New Orleans-based rapper's first in over three years. "COCKY AND CONFIDENT" is scheduled for a December 1st, 2009 release at all physical and online retailers.
"COCKY AND CONFIDENT" follows Juvenile's "REALITY CHECK," which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 upon its March 2006 release. This new album sees the acclaimed MC collaborating with a stellar line-up of guest performers, including Pleasure P, Kango Slim, Bobby V, Rico Love, B.G., Dorrough, and Q Corvette. Among the producers are such studio superstars as S-8ighty, Mouse, Precise, Lu Balz, C. Smith and of course, Juvenile. Juvenile came to national prominence as a teenager with the 1997 debut of the HOT BOY$ (Juvenile, Lil Wayne, B.G. and Turk), "GET IT HOW U LIVE," followed by the HOT BOY$ platinum record "GUERILLA WARFARE." Juvenile's major label solo debut, "400 DEGREEZ," in 1998-99, sold 4.5 million records and is universally considered one of hip hop's classics. Juvenile's three albums thereafter, "THA G-CODE" (1999) "PROJECT ENGLISH" (2001), and "JUVE THE GREAT" (2003) were each platinum plus, with the latter featuring the #1 smash single, "Slow Motion." Juvenile's UTP/Atlantic debut in 2006, after Hurricane Katrina, with "REALITY CHECK", broke out of the box as the Number 1 album in the country, highlighted by the RIAA gold certified single, "Rodeo," along with such hip-hop hits as "Way I Be Leanin' (Feat. Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Skip, and Wacko)" and "Get Ya Hustle On/What's Happenin." Written in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the latter track and its powerful companion video directly addressed the governmental neglect that the area and its citizens experienced in the months following the monumental storm. "Cocky and Confident" is Juvenile's second Atlantic album, and E1 Records is adding its hip hop marketing muscle to the release, confident in the continuation of the extraordinary success of this great artist from New Orleans' Magnolia Projects.
